Ericka McGhee 4/20/26 - winter walks (free choice)

At the beginning of this semester, my roommate and I would take walks around the campus. It was freezing during the walks, but it was still beautiful outside. During the ice storm, everything was covered. This caused the trees and ground to reflect the light from the sun, making everything seem brighter. Even though I was bundled up, it was the calmest I have felt all year. These walks allowed me to disconnect from school and focus on how peaceful it is when you spend time outside. There was a lot of stuff to take in on these walks, but one of the main things I noticed was how quiet it is outside during these conditions. Helping me lean into the natural sounds of the outdoors. This has been one of my favorite times I have ever spent outdoors.
