Ericka McGhee 4/20/26 - Rehabilitation at the Aquarium (free choice)

Last winter, I was able to work with my dad at the North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores. I was there to do electrical work with my dad, but I was able to go behind the scenes of the aquarium and see the animals being rehabilitated. At this time, I didn't know what I wanted to do as a career, but seeing what these people do to help these animals was so inspiring. I always knew I wanted to work with animals, but I didn't know exactly what I wanted to do. Seeing this gave me purpose and opened a new door for my career. Along with rehabilitation, I want to give back to the environment and help get the Earth back to being healthy. While this is my end goal, I know there's more I can be doing now to ensure I have a job in the future. When I go to the beach, I spend my time walking. At any beach I am at, I look for trash to pick up so it doesn't hurt the ocean's ecosystems or the animals.
