Braden Gage (Outside Readings)

I read an article outside of class about the idea of the tragedy of the commons, and it was actually really interesting to see how it still applies today. The article explained how when a resource is shared by everyone like oceans or the air, people tend to overuse it because no one person is responsible for taking care of it. What stood out to me was the example of overfishing, where people keep catching fish for money even though it's hurting the population long term. It's kind of frustrating because people know it's a problem, but it still keeps happening. It made me realize that without rules or cooperation, shared resources can get used up really quickly.
