Braden Gage (Class Readings)

The "Glen Canyon revealed" reading was actually pretty interesting to me because it showed how much Lake Powell and the Colorado River area have changed over time because of the dam. The part that stood out to me most was how the writer described floating through the canyon and seeing all these rock formations that used to be underwater or way above the river before the reservoir was created. It was kind of crazy to imagine that whole landscape being flooded and then slowly reappearing again as the water level drops. I also found it interesting how Katie Lee cared so much about the canyon and basically spent her life trying to bring attention to what was lost when the dam was built. Another thing that caught my attention was the idea of all the sediment building up at the bottom of the lake and forming a whole new layer of earth that didn't exist before humans interfered.
